Lunch Break Blues? Enjoy some Latin food and live entertainment on Friday May 4^th at the Downtown Kitchener Civic Square from 11:30 – 1:30.

Latino Arts and Culture Festivities start at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning May 5th at the Kitchener Market. Mexican Food! Cooking Classes!! Children’s Crafts!!! Face Painting!!!! Live Music!!!!!!

El Gremio’s 2012 Tour

El Gremio’s tour of Southern Ontario, beginning with a Valentine’s Day Benefit concert and ending with an encore second show at the Jazz Room in Uptown Waterloo, proved to be a great success!

Community members and organizers are very grateful to El Gremio for stepping up to play a benefit concert for the families of Peruvian workers killed in a road accident on February 6th outside Stratford.

The six events on this first, all too brief, tour introduced El Gremio to audiences in Waterloo, Guelph and Toronto and helped them stave off those February blues by dancing the night away to the awesome sounds of this 11-piece salsa band.

New El Gremio CDs for Old

Apologies to those of you who purchased a first pressing of the El Gremio Latin Beat CD – it has only 5 songs and should have 7. The producers have reissued the CD and Neruda Productions will exchange your copy for a new one if you phone 519 502 9677 and either provide us with a mailing address or set up a time to visit us at our new office at Unit 28, 141 Whitney Place, Kitchener or, alternately, if you attend any upcoming Neruda event in 2012 we will be happy to exchange your CD.

A great initiative started in 2011, BE, or the Belonging & Empowering program—provided training for New Canadian and Emerging artists in areas such as Marketing & PR, Portfolio Development, Presentation, Networking, Professional Development, and more… Stay tuned – we’re expanding the program in 2012.
